Outline of research
I aim to elucidate the mechanisms that control cellular lifespan and aging, using fission yeast as a model organism. More specifically, I am trying to clarify the molecular mechanisms of factors related to life extension in yeast, and to elucidate the cause of longevity in yeast mutants with longer lifespans, from the viewpoints of genetics and biochemistry.
