Outline of research
Screening of cell-selective molecules for functional surfaces of medical devices
Our research is focused on screening for functional peptides that reduce side effects of medical devices, such as vascular grafts, by mimicking characteristics of living organisms. To date, we have succeeded in obtaining cell-selective peptides that make endothelial cells adhere and selectively remove smooth-muscle cells in vascular grafts in vivo.
